Reginald (Reg) White
Millville

John 14:2-7
In my Fathers house are many mansions …
I go to prepare a place for you.

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Reg White on Sunday, April 8, 2018, at the Northside General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Sydney Mines on May 19, 1930, Reg was the son of the late John D. and Gladys White.
Reg was a devoted husband, Da, and Poppy, who worked hard for his family. He was employed with Devco for 38 years.
Reg spent his vacations in Lake Ainslie fishing, hunting and enjoying the great outdoors. He often brought home a new pal for a cup of tea and some lunch. Reg had a heart of gold and was always so giving to everyone he met.
Reg is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Yvonne (MacDonald) White. They were each other’s light and strength in life and will continue to be so in memory through the love of their children.
Da will be sadly missed by his loving children; David (Cathy) White, Millville, Clifford (Theresa) White, Millville, Debbie (Danny) MacNeil, Sydney Mines, Darlene (Robert) Snow, Georges River, Brenda (Gerald) Fudge, Lower Sackville, Nicole (Blair) MacDonald, New Glasgow, and Susan (Gary) Hass, Ontario.
Poppy will be sadly missed and forever our “Ol’Pal” by his 14 grandchildren; Jennifer (Emily), Jonathan (Laura), Ashley (Kevin), Craig (Laura), Dawn (Ricky), Danielle (Brian), James (Mary), Leah, Melissa, Kristi, Jason (Mally), Matthew (Colleen), Braydon and Josh; his 10 great-grandchildren; Landon, Easton, Maddox, Grayson, Sophie, Anna, Kiya, Esraea, Abbigale and Gabryilla. He also leaves to mourn his sisters Joan Gracie and Betty Roland.
Besides his parents, Reg was predeceased by his brothers Duncan, Clifford, Max and George, and sisters Louise and Girlena.
The family would like to thank Louise and Dr. Michel McKeough, and the staff at the Northside General Hospital for their professional care and kindness.
The greatest gift we ever had came from God. We call him Da. He is forever and always “Everyone’s Ol’ Pal”
Visitation for Reg White will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2018, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. in J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, Main St., Sydney Mines. A celebration of his life will take place Friday, at 2:00 p.m. in St. John’s United Church, Big Bras d’Or, with DLM Diane Kempt officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Reg’s memory may be made to St. John’s United Church, or a charity of one’s choice. Words of comfort may be forwarded to his family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com
