James Keith MacLeod
Sydney Mines

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loving husband, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend, Keith MacLeod, 70, on Sunday, July 7, 2019, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in North Sydney on May 27, 1949, he was the son of the late George (Mick) and Alberta (Maddocks) MacLeod.
Keith was a faithful member of St. John’s Anglican Church in North Sydney. He was very involved with the church, and was an active member of the choir.
Keith worked for Devco for 30 years, and later at Hawkesbury Paper.
He loved golf and spent many hours on the course with Eric, Mike and Gord. On his daily walks, Keith always had treats for Leia, Ingo, Gemma, Luca, and poor Andy.
Keith is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Debbie (Young) MacLeod, and his siblings Kenny, Ruth Ann, and Liam (Nicole). Also left to mourn are his sisters-in-law Callista (Jim), Donna, and Sue Young, brothers-in-law Jon, and Terry (Colleen). He will be dearly missed by several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Sharon (Lambert), brother Michael, sister-in-law Patsy MacLeod, mother-in-law Trudy Young, father-in-law Donald Young, and brother-in-law Raymond Young.
His family would like to thank the staff of 4a and 4B at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, and special nurse Rosie. Thank you also to Dr. MacLaughlin and Dr. Abboud. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Cancer Center, St. John’s Anglican Church Fund, or the Cape Breton SPCA.
Visitation for Keith MacLeod will take place on Wednesday, July 10, 2019, from 2-5 pm in J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. A celebration of his life will be held Thursday at 11 am in St. John’s Anglican Church, North Sydney, with Rev. Julio C. Martin and Rev. Canon Reg MacDonald officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall. Words of comfort may be forwarded to his family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com
