Sarah Jane (Sadie) Boutilier
Little Pond

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother, Sadie Boutilier, 90, on Monday, January 6, 2020. Sadie was born on April 28, 1929, in Sydney Mines. She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Marcella (Harrietha) Nunn.
Mom had a keen eye for fashion and makeup and enjoyed getting dressed up for family events and Sunday Mass. She loved travelling and hosting the family for Sunday dinners at the family home in Little Pond. In her younger years she enjoyed taking long walks and loved to read & do puzzles. In more recent years she enjoyed day outings with her family. She was married to her beloved husband, Garfield, for 64 years.
Sadie was a devoted mother and will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her children, Donna Coady, Debby (Sandy Jardine), Marcy (Bill Unsworth), Nancy Balah, Irene (Les Ferguson), Gary (Cynthia), Cindy (Greg Leblanc), Paul (Gayle) and Wendy’s partner Carl Gardner. She will be forever cherished by her grandchildren, Michael, Angela, Nikki, Jason, Sara Beth, Allyson, Peter, Geralyn, Michelle, Josh, Jordan, Jessica, Benjamin, Garrett, Erin, Kenneth, Brent, Brandon and Hannah;  great-grandchildren, Kiara, Michael, Charlie, Julia, Emily, Megan, Madison, Jake, Ethan, William, Malcom, Molly and Bradley and great-great-grandchild, Seth.
Besides her parents and brother Sonny, Mom was predeceased by her husband, Garfield; daughter, Wendy McMullin; sons-in-law, Jed McMullin and David Balah; and great-granddaughter, Brielle Boutilier.
The family would like to thank the staff at Miner’s Lane, Harbourstone Enhanced Care Facility for all they have done for Mom over the past few years.
Visitation will be held at J. M. Jobes Funeral Home on Thursday, January 9, 2020, from 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will take place Friday at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, Sydney Mines with Fr. Jim Oliver officiating. A reception will be held in the parish hall following the Mass.
Family flowers only please. Donations in her memory may be made to the Northside Hospital Foundation or charity of choice.
Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to her family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com
