Mary Boulter (Middy Gracie)
Sydney Mines

How do we say goodbye to someone who has been your friend, Mom, Nanny, and Great-Nanny for so many years? Well, sadly today, Sunday March 1, 2020, we, the family of Mary Boulter did just that.
Mom passed away after a short, courageous battle with cancer, at home, surrounded by her daughters.
Born in Alder Point on September 26, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Catherine Gracie. She was a member of Trinity Anglican Church, Sydney Mines, a long-time member of the Graham Group, and Altar Guild. For forty years, she enjoyed her extended TOPS family, and her Tuesday night outings at Jane’s.
She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life with her husband of 63 years, the late Gordon Boulter. She was happiest at family gatherings with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her son Gordon (Roxanne), Ottawa, daughters Sharon (Lauchie) MacLean, Millville, Karen (Dale) McCarthy, North Sydney, Debbie (Melvin) LeBlanc, Bras d’Or, Nancy (Glenn) Cantwell, Boularderie, Sheila (late Tommy) Penney, Florence, Denise Boulter, Sydney Mines, and Darlene (Richard) Toope, Windsor. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, sister Betty, half-brother Joey, half-sisters Patsy, Georgina and Debbie, and sisters-in-law Marjorie Klinger, Truro, and Grace Boulter.
Besides her parents and husband Gordon, she was predeceased by sons-in-law Perry Toope and Tommy Penney, grandsons Shawn Boulter and Michael Jollymore, brothers Vincent, Edison and Gerald, father and mother-in-law Swinburn and Laura (Kendell) Boulter, brothers-in-law Cecil, Eddie and Swinburn Jr., and sister-in-law Margaret.
Visitation for Mary Boulter will take place Wednesday, March 4, 2020, from 6-8 pm in J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. The funeral service will be held Thursday, at 11 am in Trinity Anglican Church, Queen St. Sydney Mines, with Rev. Jackie Warren officiating.
A very sincere thank you to Palliative Care, VON, Dr. Abboud and Dr. Wambolt. Donations in Mary’s memory may be made to Palliative Care, the Sydney Mines Food Bank, or a charity of one’s choice. Words of comfort may be forwarded to her family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome

“Thinking of her as living
in the hearts of those she touched,
For nothing loved is ever lost,
and she was loved so very much.”
