It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of a dear father, brother and uncle John MacIntosh of Sydney Mines on April 19, 2019 at the age of 77, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
John was born in Florence and was the son of the late Hugh and Catherine (Dickson) MacIntosh. He was a member of Wilson United Church, Florence.
John was employed by Baddeck Home Hardware for many years.
He is survived by his daughter Nicole (Chris) Nicholson and precious grandchildren Jacob and Eve. John also leaves behind sisters, Ruby Squarey, Rodney (Ralph) King, Brother, Tommy MacIntosh, brother in law Chess Sexton, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents John was predeceased by his wife Lorraine (Cameron), brothers, Hugh, Everett, Alvin, Robert, Melrose, Donald, and twin brother Daniel. Sisters, Olga, Lois, Margaret, Althea, and Mae Audrey.
A special thank you to all the staff and residents at the Miner's Manor, Sydney Mines where John resided.
In keeping with John’s wishes cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, graveside burial at a later date.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Miner's Memorial Manor.

Our condolences to the MacIntosh family.
John worked for our Baddeck Home Hardware store for many years where we considered him as a most valued employee and friend.

We will never forget the night Nicole was born and we were having our store Christmas party, and John was so excited and happy.

He will be missed.

Deepest Sympathy to Nicole, and MacIntosh family. We were so very sorry to read of John’s passing. Visiting John at the Manor this past year was always an enjoyable time. He loved to laugh and tell his jokes. We’ll miss our visits with him. Bless you all.
