It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of a wonderful man on Friday, June 7 2019. Murdock was born Jan 17, 1931 to the late John and Sadie Theriault.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Catherine. He was Father to Valerie (Sheldon), Eric (Elaine), Ruby (Blaise), Richard (Danita), Leonard (Diana), Mark (Liz), and Evan (Melissa). He was Grampy to 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
He is survived by his sisters, Geraldine, Hilda, Cordella and Rosetta. He was predeceased by sisters Elizabeth and Hannah and brother Cyril.
He worked with Martells Construction as a heavy equipment operator from 1955 to his retirement, 39 years later. He loved wood working, gardening, fishing and repairing cars, especially Volkswagens. He also loved helping neighbours, friends and family.
As per his wishes, there will be no funeral or visitation. A family graveside service will be held at a later date.
We would like to thank the Doctors and all staff at Buchanan Memorial Hospital for the great care given to Murdock. Words cannot express how much we appreciate the kindness and compassion shown by all.
Donations in his memory can be given to the Palliative Care Society at Buchanan Memorial Hospital. Words of comfort may be forwarded to his family at

My deepest sympathies to Eric,Valerie, Evan and the rest of your Family at this difficult time. Murdoch was a fine man well respected by everyone. I had the great fortune to know him while he worked at Martells and enjoyed our many loader chats. May you find strength in the life he lived so well!

Rest in Peace brother. There is one big hole in my heart where you were but you will never be forgotten. There was a spot in Heaven and God only takes the best so He whispered in your ear,"Come Murdock, Your work is done on earth, come fill my spot in Heaven as we need the best to do it"."Well done Brother, rest easy now. You are with all our family who has gone before you so you have a lot to catch upon.I will love and miss you every day until we meet again.<3

Aunt Katherine and Family. One only needs a moment to meet him, in that moment they respected, liked and called him friend . That was the type of man he was. Surrounded by those who were important to him and those who though he was important to them. Always a smile, a chat even for a niece who he barely knew. I will always remember him and talk about him with love in my voice. That is what a great man can do, make all those around him care and love him even when he isn't around to know about it. My thoughts, prayers are of him and his family, I send you a hug Aunt Katherine, I am sorry I am not there in person to give it to you.

The loss of my dear brother and great friend of my husband,Marcel, will take us a long time to get over but the wonderful memories of so many good times spent together will help in our recovery. Murdock was a man who made a statement without even speaking by his friendliness, kindness and helpfulness to any and all who needed it.To honor his memory, Marcel and I will try to live his values in our everyday lives. To Catherine and all his family, you were truly blessed and he was rewarded with all your blessings as he quietly passed away.Always loved and will never be forgotten!!RIP,Dear One!
