Wilson Dwight (Robin) Mansfield
Sydney Mines

We are heartbroken to announce the sudden passing of our loving husband, father and grandfather, Wilson Mansfield, age 75, on Wednesday August 21, 2019, at home.
Born in North Sydney on April 23, 1944, Wilson was the youngest son of the late William and Mae (Stubbert) Mansfield. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, North Sydney. He sailed on the Great Lake boats and later worked at Marine Atlantic. He enjoyed spending summers at Englishtown Ridge Campground with his many friends, fishing on the wharf, and delivering his catch to family and friends. He loved playing the accordion for residents of local nursing homes.
Wilson is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Phyllis (Jessome); daughter Michele (Darcy) Lynch and son Wilson (Robbie) (Dawn Whitty); grandchildren Andrea Tomko, Daniel Lynch, Robyn Mansfield and Patrick Mansfield; brother Peter Mansfield and sisters-in-law Nancy Mansfield and Becky Mansfield, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers William, George, Daniel and Orville, sister Jean MacPhail, and 4 siblings in infancy.
Visitation for Wilson (Robin) Mansfield will be held in J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main Street, Sydney Mines on Monday, August 26, 2019, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday at 2 pm in Calvary Baptist Church, North Sydney, with Rev. John Hannem officiating. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church Memorial Fund. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to his family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com

To Phyllis and the entire Mansfield family I offer sincere condolences on the passing of Wilson. I initially met Wilson a number of years ago when visiting my brother and family at the Englishtown Ridge Campground. Since then I would visit the Campground and Wilson every year. I enjoyed his humor, stories, and nights around the fire pit for a "singsong" but in particular, his playing the accordion. What a great individual. We will all miss him very much!

Phyllis, Robbie, Michelle and family: I am sorry to hear of Wilson's sudden passing. I have many fond memories of him when he was a deacon at Clyde Ave Baptist, serving communion on Sunday AM, and from the walking track at the Emera Center. He was a meek, mild, and a genuine nice person. I'm sorry for your loss. May God comfort you through the days, weeks, and months ahead. Blessings.
