To Kelly's Family:

I met Kelly a year ago while my brother Hector MacKinnon (Sydney Mines) was a resident at the Highland Manor and Kelly would come into the room and still talk about fishing. His livelihood never left his mind. He appeared to have been a hard worker in his younger day. Tonight an old fisherman has found shelter in a safe harbor . RIP Kelly your hard work is finished.

Kelly was a very generous man to me and my family over the years and we are truly saddened by his passing —our deepest sympathies to Peggy, his family and his dear friends. Many of you may not know but Kelly was a big part of helping us start Lantern Hill & Hollow in Ingonish 20 years ago and we will be forever grateful to him for that. We will never forget you, Kelly!
