Robert T. (Robbie) Bradley
Sydney Mines
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden and tragic passing of our son, brother, father and friend, Robert T. Bradley, on Thursday, September 3, 2020.
Born in Sydney Mines on April 12, 1960, Robbie was the son of Shelia (Cheata) and the late Robert (Bobby) Bradley.
Robbie spent 40+ years working and fishing as a commercial fisherman and was truly happiest out on the water. The sea was in his blood. In his spare time Robbie loved a good game of cards. He always looked forward to his morning visits to Tim Hortons for his morning coffee and a bagel, where he would meet up with fellow fishing buddies to exchange fishing tales about “who caught the most lobsters, or who caught the biggest lobster or who was the best fisherman. There were more traps set and more lobsters caught in the parking lot of Tim Horton’s than there was in the ocean. They would have a good laugh and do it all over again the next morning. Robbie was known to a lot of people as “Buck” and they spoke of him as a friend and that he had a good heart and never would refuse to help anyone. He was blessed with a family that always supported him and loved him unconditionally, especially his Mother. He was a member of Holy Family Parish and so proud that he was able to make the “Nine Fridays”
He is survived by his mother Sheila, sister Patsy (Mick) Rose, brothers Gordon (Pam), Kenny (Junie), and Billy (Cindy), daughters April (John) and Courtney, his granddaughter Abigail, and his special little fur-baby cat, “Baby”, which was rescued and taken under his wing.
Besides his father, Robbie was predeceased by his grandparents William and Kathleen Capstick, Charles and Mable Bradley, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will take place Thursday, September 10, 2020, at 2:00 pm in Holy Family Church, Sydney Mines, with Fr. Fabian Ihunegbo officiating. The burial will be in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the Lung Association. Words of comfort may be forwarded to his family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com
Robbie, your ship has sailed and a new voyage begins.
Now it’s time to dock at the Port of God.
