It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Keith Warren MacDonald at MacGillivray Guest Home, Sydney on Friday September 25, 2020 at the age of 83. Keith resided at MacGillivray for the past four years.
Born in Sydney Mines on February 9, 1937 he was the son of the late John and Lillian (Abbott) MacDonald.
Keith worked for C.N. Marine until his retirement. He was also a fisherman and avid horsemen for a number of years, having several race horses over the years.
Keith is survived by his partner of 30 years Mina, his son Robert MacDonald, California. Sisters; Shirley (Henry) Ford, Sydney, Yvonne White, Millville, Lillian McGean, Groves Point. Brothers; Wayne (Corrine) MacDonald, Sydney, Bruce (Barbara) MacDonald, Sydney Mines. Sister-in- law Dorothy MacDonald, Sydney Mines. Daughter – in- law, Petra MacDonald, grandchildren, Fiona and Shane MacDonald and great granddaughter Lynneah MacDonald, all of Edmonton. Several nieces and nephews. Mina’s Children, Marguerite White and Fred White.
Besides his parents Keith was predeceased by his son Keith Lawrence Mac Donald. Brothers, Kenny and Johnny. Sister, Betty. Brothers- in- law, Reg White and Eddy McGean.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the nurses, doctors and staff at MacGillivray Guest Home for the great care given to Keith.
A Graveside service to celebrate Keith’s life will be held on Wednesday September 30, 2020 at 2pm in Brookside Cemetery with Rev. Brian Barron officiating. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to MacGillivray Guest Home. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family at
