Frances Agnes Buffett
Alder Point

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved, wife, mother, and grandmother on Friday November 6, 2020 at the Northside General Hospital.
Frances was born in North Sydney on Nov 20, 1941 to the late John and Adele Malanka .
In her earlier years Frances took great pride in her work at the Stella Maris Nursing Home in North Sydney. She then moved on to marry her best friend and enjoyed raising her family in Alder Point. When not with her family she could be found enjoying a night of fun and laughter with her closest friends, Betty Marsh and Tina Gracie, at the local Bingo Hall, one of her greatest pleasures. Frances always made sure her doors were open to the neighbourhood kids, she always did her best to make sure the felt welcomed and special.
Frances is survived by her loving husband of 58 years Barry Buffett, children, Johnny (Mea), Michael (Crystal), Mary (Bert) Gracie, Wanda (Matthew) Hayden. Frances always enjoyed every minute with her grandchildren, Nakia (Lance), and Jeremy (Savannah). She is also survived by sisters, Ann Marie and Margaret and brother, David. Brothers and sisters in-law, Bernie (Diane), Joan (Sander), Earl, Mary, Yvonne, Cameron (Doreen), Olive (Bob), Sharon, Joanne (Greg), Wayne and Cecil (Edie).
Besides her parents Frances was predeceased by sisters, Donna (Paul) Sampson, Annie (George) Burt, and Florence.  Mother and father in- law, Mini and Bill Buffett, brothers and sisters in-law, Junior (Josephine), Hartland, Wanda, Ernie, and Allison.
We the family would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Doctors, nurses and staff at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital and Northside General Hospital for their compassion, kindness and care.
There will be no visitation. A Funeral Mass to celebrate Frances’s life will be held on Tuesday November 10, 2020 at 10:30 am in St. Joseph Church, Bras d’Or, with Fr. Michel Exalant officiating. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at
