I am so surprised and so sorry for the news. Worked with him in Baddeck and it was a pleasure to see how he handled the workers. At the job's end I had a party for all in Margaree and it was a great one. A few words to tell you what a man he was he did't want to leave until the dishes were done.

Dear Laura and the Snow families we are heartbroken with your loss. Grew up with Garf and worked with him in the industry. He will always be remembered for being a great family man and a credit to the Cape Breton construction industry. He built with perfection..I was just thinking today that he and I spent two weeks in Greenwood at a air cadet summer camp. RIP Garf..

Dear Laura and family
Rob and I send our heartfelt condolences to you at the truly difficult time. I am holding onto a phrase that Father Paul Macintosh often says.  "Our hearts ache for others so theirs does not break as they navigate the painful stages of grief" . Please hold onto the fact that many people are holding specs of your pain in their hearts so that you all have the strength to make it through these next few days to honor Garf.  He truly was an exceptional man .
RIP dear cousin .

Our heartfelt condolences to the Snow family.  Jennifer and I both had the pleasure of working with Garf on a number of projects in our careers and always enjoyed the opportunity to work with him.  Garf would take the time to ask a question, show you what work he was up to and give you an honest practical reason why he was building something a certain way. He was thoughtful, caring and patient.  It was like heading into the professors office without ever being judged on the questions asked and answers provided.  I worked with Garf on the Cat Dealership, Northside Hospital Laundry Expansion, Tar Ponds, several school expansions, and many, many others within CB.  All projects I was proud of and the workmanship I think speaks for itself.   Last time I saw Garf was last summer when we where in CB for a wedding.  He was watching his grandson in hockey camp in Membertou.  He was Proud of what his grandson and how he was progressing on the ice.  It was great to see Garf and catch up.  It was one of the highlights and pleasant surprises of my visit home.

Our sincere condolences to the Snow family and Garfs friends.  He will be missed.

Brian White (Victoria, BC)
