To Margie’s family, we are very sorry for your loss. The obituary is beautiful and it is her for sure. We had the pleasure of being at many dances with your parents and of course “Mama” too as Margie would say. I’m sure she is very happy to be back with your dad and her precious mama. Take care.

Sending the family my deepest heartfelt condolences. I have a very special place in my heart for my Aunt Margie as she was a big part of my childhood. As a child, when I spent Summers in Sydney Mines, she always made sure that I was well fed and taken care of. One of my Fondest memories as a child is her preparing peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and Kool-Aid to take with me for my day at the beach with friends. She was so loving, had such a beautiful smile, and the best laugh; she will be missed dearly. I am grateful for the gift of the love she gave me and I will cherish the wonderful memories I had with her. My father Francisco Barrasa asked that I pass along his condolences to the family as well. Sending love, hugs and strength to help you all through this difficult time.

Dear Mary & all family, Wayne & I are so very sorry to learn of Margie’s passing. No matter where we would run into her, she was always up for  a chat, always upbeat & loved a good joke. I will fondly remember the camping stories, dances that she & Freeman would attend regularly. Margie was not only a caring, generous person, but a woman who loved her family more than words can express.

She loved & cared so much for each & everyone of you. I remember how much she gave of herself, selflessly to Kay & Joe, Freeman & of everyone she knew.   Margie never skipped a beat when talking so lovingly of you, Jake and her grandchildren. She was so proud of you all. We are truly sorry for your tremendous loss.

With heartfelt sympathy, Cathy & Wayne Reashore

Sadness is quickly followed by love & laughter when I recall my youth at the Serroul home on Butt Street.  Saturday was the best day of the week with a visit to Sydney for shopping followed by lunch at Jaspers and then back to Butt Street for the adults to get ready for their Saturday night outing (Legion or Fire Hall).  Frances and I would drop the gang off and then back to Butt Street to wait the call to pick everyone up.  The Serroul home on Butt Street was the epicenter of love, laugher, fun & friendship.  Thank you Mary for sharing your mother with us!
