Posted by: Dave Usifer Tue February 02, 2021 | As a young lad of 15, Gordon was with me and Doug Jackson when I caught my first swordfish of 720 pounds. That same fish which was so heavy broke its line as we were bringing it aboard and fell on me and split my head open. Gordon was there to keep me calm the whole way back to shore. That sword still hangs on my wall today. I feel fortunate to have known such a kind and generous man that Gordon was. May his spirit fly high over the beautiful highlands that he loved so much. RIP Gordon you will never be forgotten. My deepest condolences to all the family and friends that have been touched by Gordon's passing.😇😢 |

Posted by: Russell MacLellan and Ann MacLean Tue February 02, 2021 | Dear Rhodena and Family, We have just learned of Gordon's passing. No words can describe how deeply shocked and saddened we are of hearing this news. Gordon has been that smiling face, that sincere and warm human being, always ready to lend a hand and bring about your laugh or smile, because of his own infectious smile. Even his anti-Liberal comments were enjoyable! Gordon truly loved people- particularly the people of Ingonish - and they loved him back. What a great loss his passing means to our community here North of Smokey! Please accept our deepest sympathy as we write this note with heavy hearts. |
