Tue February 02, 2021 As a young lad of 15, Gordon was with me and Doug Jackson when I caught my first swordfish of 720 pounds. That same fish which was so heavy broke its line as we were bringing it aboard and fell on me and split my head open. Gordon was there to keep me calm the whole way back to shore. That sword still hangs on my wall today. I feel fortunate to have known such a kind and generous man that Gordon was. May his spirit fly high over the beautiful highlands that he loved so much. RIP Gordon you will never be forgotten.  My deepest condolences to all the family and friends that have been touched by Gordon's passing.😇😢

Tue February 02, 2021 Dear Rhodena and Family, We have just learned of Gordon's passing. No words can describe how deeply shocked and saddened we are of hearing this news. Gordon has been that smiling face, that sincere and warm human being, always ready to lend a hand and bring about your laugh or smile, because of his own infectious smile. Even his anti-Liberal comments were enjoyable! Gordon truly loved people- particularly the people of Ingonish - and they loved him back. What a great loss his passing means to our community here North of Smokey! Please accept our deepest sympathy as we write this note with heavy hearts.

Tue February 02, 2021 Joan and I will never forget Gordons visits to Pictou often with his entourage of fishermen friends. He always brought a zest for life , a sense of humor and kindness that made those days very special. We will always treasure those memories and having known such a fine fellow. Fri February 05, 2021 Was their a finer man? I have not met him yet. My memories are speckled with wonderful stories. Gordon was a port of safe harbour. Always accommodating, quick to smile or wink. Stories and laughter were steps away.
Please know that I, and my four children, feel the loss. Rhodena, your loss is immeasurable. I will come see you when the time is right.

Fri February 05, 2021 I first met Gordon as my boss at the Ski Hill in '77. The best boss I ever had. Then as a true and dependable friend. Always solid wisdom with humour or a story, together with the best hospitality. We had some good times along the way. We are better people for knowing Gordon. Our two years of living in Ingonish were made so enjoyable because of our friendship with Gordon and Rhodena.  Even though we didn’t see a lot of each other these past number of years, that friendship never faded.  We loved you both then and do so now.
