Angus Neil MacLeod

With great sadness, we announce the unexpected passing of our dad, Angus Neil MacLeod, age 67, of Big Bras d’Or, on Monday, January 13, 2025.
Born in North Sydney on February 19, 1957, Angus was the son of the late Neil and Florence MacLeod.
Angus is survived by his two children: his son Malcolm (Chantale Warrick), Silver Valley, AB, and his daughter Stephanie (Dale MacLeod), Baddeck, NS, and his grandchildren Ethan, Chloe, and Sawyer. Brothers Charles MacLeod (Patsy) and Glenn MacLeod, as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins, and lifelong friends, are also left to mourn his loss.
Besides his parents, Angus was predeceased by sister Arlene and sister-in-law Florrie.
Angus served his country in the Canadian Navy for 20 years as a Submariner and a Petty Officer 2nd Class, retiring in 1996. Most recently, he was a Commissionaire at the Canadian Coast Guard College.
Dad had a great love of the outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening and watching the birds outside his window. His cooking skills were unmatched, and his love of storytelling kept us laughing and entertained. We will be forever grateful for those stories.
Dad, thank you for your sense of humour, your gentle soul and your love for us. We are going to miss you every day.
A visitation will be held on Monday, January 20, 2025, from 1 pm-3 pm at Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main Street, Sydney Mines. With a Funeral Service to follow at 3 pm officiated by Rev Peter MacDonald
