Ann Delores (Sutherland) Howard

It is with sadness that I announce the passing of my mother, Delores Howard, age 92, on Monday, December 15, 2025, at the Northside Guest Home.

Born in Sydney Mines on April 23, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Annie (Matheson) Sutherland.

Delores is survived by her daughter, Mary (Howard) Murphy, husband Stephen Murphy; granddaughters Jennifer Murphy, husband Allyn Coles, and Katelyn (Murphy) Wickens, husband Jonathan Wickens; great-granddaughters Ella Coles and Willow Coles; son-in-law Keith Fitzgerald; and her beloved grandsons Andrew and Stephen Fitzgerald. She is also survived by her brother Leonard Sutherland, along with many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Ernie Howard; daughter Shirley; son Paul; two daughters in infancy; sisters Agnes, Isobel, Jeannie, Patty, Yvonne, Leona, and Anna (in infancy); and brothers Alexander and Arthur.

There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A private burial will take place at a later time.
