ANNE PEARL LE BLANC, RN
It’s with profound sadness that we announce the death of our dear Mother, on March 13, 2026. Anne was born Oct 6, 1927, the daughter of Mary Campbell and Hector MacKenzie. She was predeceased by her parents, her loving husband Harold Vincent, an infant daughter and son, and her dear sister Therese Fairbanks. She was born in New Waterford, attended grade school there and high school in Mabou, Inverness Co. In 1948 she graduated from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing, in Glace Bay. After graduation, she worked for several years in Boston MA, before returning to Cape Breton. Anne was particularly close to God her entire life, a devote Catholic and daily communicant. For several years, she was an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist at the VG Hospital. As well, she taught catechism and for many years and was one of “the linen ladies,” who cleaned the altar linen, vestments and chalices at the former Canadian Martyrs Church, on Inglis Street. She radiated her Christian joy and love to all those that she encountered. Her quick wit and sense of humor was a pleasure to behold. She is survived by her two sons, Harold Jr. and Andrew who consider it a privilege to have been given such a precious and loving Mother. No visitation by request of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a Mass be said for the Souls in Purgatory. We thank both Fr. Francesco Pirisi and Fr. Nathanael DesRoches FoH, for their kindness, prayers and sacraments to our Mother, over the past many home-bound years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday March 19, 2026, at 2 PM, at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 6476 Bayers Road Halifax and celebrated by Fr. DesRoches. Burial will take place at a later date, at St. Joseph’s Church Cemetery, Bras d’Or, Cape Breton. Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Dartmouth and J.M. Jobes (Sydney Mines) Funeral Homes
