It is with deep love and heavy hearts that we share the passing of Barbara Maud Ingraham, who left us peacefully on July 13, 2025. Born in Neil’s Harbour, Barb was the daughter of the late Clayton and Hattie (Rideout) Fricker.
Barb was a strong, determined woman who never shied away from hard work, but she also knew the value of a quiet moment, a good story, and a strong cup of tea. She had a kind heart, a sharp wit, and a deep devotion to those she loved. Nothing made her happier than a good chat with family, a phone call from a friend, or the moments spent with her grandchildren. She had a special place in her heart for them, and they brought her endless joy.
She had a special way of making you feel welcome, whether you dropped in for a visit or called to check in. Barb also found comfort in the little joys: watching birds outside her window, getting lost in a good book, or simply sitting with someone she cared about.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ewart; her sons, Greg and Jamie; her grandson, Clayton Organ; and her sister, Leona Johnson.
Left with wonderful memories and grateful hearts are her daughters Jackie (Greg Organ) and Bonnie Ingraham; grandchildren John Mitchell Organ (Densie), Lacey Organ (Rob Sutherland), Jenna Organ, Jeremy Ingraham (Sarah), Tristian Ingraham (Jessie), Jasmine Ingraham (Owen MacKinnon), and Alex Ingraham; great-grandchildren Meghan Organ, Jack Sutherland, Kylie Organ, Ayla and Nolan Ingraham, Levi, Mason, and Daisey MacKinnon.
Also missing her dearly are her cherished companion, Carl Donnovan; her brother, Ralph; her sister, Brenda; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were lucky enough to know her.
A heartfelt thank-you to the staff at Buchanan Memorial Hospital — with special appreciation to Dr. Ritter and his team — for the care and compassion shown to Barb and her family.
As per her wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Barb’s life will be held on Saturday, July 19th at 2:00 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Neil’s Harbour, with Reverend Carolyn Sharp officiating. A reception will follow at the parish hall — all are welcome to come, share stories, laughter, and a cup of tea in her honour.
In leu of flowers a donation may be made to St. Andrews Anglican church.
