It is with immense sadness and heartache that the family of Beulah Joan (Hardy) MacDonald announce her sudden passing on August 13th, 2023, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.

Born in Rose Blanche, Newfoundland, in 1942, Beulah was the beloved daughter of the late James and Elsie Hardy. She moved to Cape Breton as a young girl, and while she made her life here, she never forgot her Newfoundland roots.

Beulah was predeceased by her parents and sibling, Eileen Howell, and survived by her brother, James Hardy.

Beulah was loved by those who knew her and cherished by her loving family. She will be profoundly missed by her devoted husband of 63 years, and the love of her life, Neil. Our beautiful mother, with her contagious laughter and flair for fashion and decorating, will be missed by her children whom she adored; Eddie (Sherry) MacDonald, Michele (Shaun) MacLean, and Nancy (Doc) Graham. “Gammy” will also be missed by her grandchildren; Erica, Lucee, Leo, Mila, Kiana, and Summer; and great-grandchildren, Navy, Georgia, Keegan, and Lyla. 

Beulah and Neil indulged their passion for RV’ing, spending hours on the road travelling across North America. In their later years, many weekends and summers were spent forming lifelong friendships.

Beulah enjoyed special occasions surrounded by her loved ones. Christmas at Gammy’s was the highlight of her year. She poured love and care into every detail to ensure everything was perfect for her family.

Our family would like to extend sincere thanks to EHS, the staff of both the ER and ICU at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital and Dr. David Brake for his care.
