With broken hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Beverly Ann Blanchard, surrounded by loved ones after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Beverly was the youngest daughter of the late Alec (Alexander) and Marguerite MacNeil.
She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Joseph Blanchard; her children Nicole (Devin Segal) and Ryan (Kaitland McKinnon); and the lights of her life, her grandchildren, Talia (Segal) and Charles (Blanchard). She is also survived by her older sisters Sandra (Bill) and Heather (Doug), many nieces and nephews (Randy Lynn, Jennifer, Melinda, Justin, and Timothy), and special great nieces Olivia, Madeleine, and Kaia. Beverly was predeceased by older sister Elizabeth Barber (George) and eldest nephew John Mills (son of Heather and Doug).
Beverly’s favorite time of year was the Christmas season, when she would decorate her home and tree (with many lights), bake, and make memories with loved ones. Beverly took pride in her work at Choice Appliances. She loved her home, garden, family pets (Whiskers, Daisy, and Zahav), and a cup of King Cole Tea. Beverly was never happier than the day she became a beloved Nanny, a role she took with much pride and love.
Cremation has taken place, a celebration of life will be held Sunday July 20 at 12 pm at the Sydney Mines Fire Hall All are welcome . Special thanks to Dr. Andrew Wawer for the medical care over the years and, recently, to all the doctors, nurses, and staff at Cape Breton Regional ER, Critical Care Unit, and Palliative Care Unit. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Palliative Care (An Cala Unit).
