William (Bill) Jerrett
Sydney Mines
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved William (Bill) Jerrett, age 81, on Tuesday, April 5th, 2022.
Born in Sydney Mines on January 13, 1941, William was the son of the late William and Flora Jerrett. William began his career in the Canadian Armed Forces, he later became a bricklayer, working alongside his brothers for many years. After his retirement, he worked as a jack of all trades, turning his hand to many jobs that were out there. Always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone that asked and had the biggest heart you can ever imagine. He always knew how to make everybody laugh or smile.
William is survived by his children, Steve (Calgary), James (Rhonda) North Sydney and Michael (Deborah) Sydney Mines. He’s also survived by siblings Harry (Nerta), Clarence (Ida) Joe (Ann) and Eddie Joe (Kelli): grandchildren: Stephanie (Brian), Ronald, Jeremy, Wilson, Kerri-Lynn (Bill), Faith and great-granddaughter Chiara. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews on both sides of the family.
Besides his parents, William was predeceased by his wife Geraldine (Harding) Jerrett, brother Johnny Jerrett, and his partner Mary White.
A special thank you to Dr. Andrew Wawer, doctors and nurses from the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, as well as the staff on the Hospice Palliative Care Unit for their dignity and comfort on his final journey home.
