Blair Chisholm Obituary

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we, the family of Blair Chisholm, announce his sudden passing on Sunday, July 6, 2025. Born on January 21, 1963, in Sydney Mines, Blair was the beloved son of the late Leonard and Elaine (MacDougall) Chisholm.

Blair is survived by his loving siblings—sisters Wanda and Laura, and brother John—as well as his cherished son Devon and two treasured grandsons. He will also be deeply missed by his many nephews: Dwayne, Freddy, Farrell, Brent, and Adien; and nieces: Angella, Ashley, Catherine, Katrina, and Jillian. A large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, great-nieces and nephews, and close friends who were like family will carry his memory in their hearts.

The family would like to recognize two people Blair held especially close: his aunt, Thelma MacIntyre, with whom he shared a special bond. Thank you, Thelma, for always being like a second mom to us. And Farrell Confiant—his nephew, closest friend, and partner in crime—Blair truly thought the world of you. We also can’t forget Bambi, Nan’s fur-baby, who Blair adored and spoiled like a child.

Blair was predeceased by his parents, his paternal grandparents John and Margaret (Jessome) Chisholm, and his maternal grandparents Daniel and Marie (Steele) MacDougall. He was also predeceased by his brothers Wayne, Leonard, twin brother Brian, sister Margaret Ann, and Baby Chisholm; nephew Travis Pye; brother-in-law Ricky Jessome; his dear cousin Dana Jessome; and many other beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Over the years, Blair worked in many places: at the local fish plant, with Asplundh Tree Service, on the railroads in Alberta, and later in Fort McMurray in the oil fields.

He loved spending quiet time at home with Bambi, welcoming visitors, riding his bike with pride, and cheering for his favorite team, the Montreal Canadiens. He had a soft spot for a good scoff of seafood, a cold Boost drink, and was always on the lookout for a home-cooked meal from Wanda, a freshly brewed coffee from John, and a helping hand from Laura to tidy up. Blair also had a passion for collecting sports cards, antiques, and coins.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025, at J.M. Jobes Funeral Home from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. A prayer service, officiated by Deacon David Lewis, will follow at 3:00 p.m. All who knew Blair are warmly invited to attend and share in his memory.

We will miss you deeply, Blair. Your presence, your humour, and your big heart will never be forgotten. We will hold and cherish your memory always—until we meet again.
