Brenda Lee Young Capstick
July 1, 1961 – July 4, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Brenda Lee Young Capstick on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at Hospice, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born in North Sydney on July 1, 1961, Brenda was the cherished daughter of the late Patricia Young (Wallace) Kendall
Throughout Brenda's life, she faced more than her share of hardships and challenges. Yet, despite every obstacle, she never allowed life's difficulties to harden her heart. She remained a kind, compassionate, and loving woman whose warmth, generosity, and unwavering spirit touched everyone who knew her. Her resilience was matched only by her capacity to love, and she chose grace and kindness time and again.
Brenda is survived by her daughters, Crystal (Troy) Carroll and Lisa Marie Capstick Skinner (Peter), She was also a proud grandmother to Allan, Mason, and Bryleigh.
Brenda will also be deeply missed her brother, Jamie Young (Leisje); her sister, Joni Bates (Joe); and by her many nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in her heart.
She is also survived by her loving aunts and uncles: Billy (Cathy), Sister (Archie) , Tiny, wife of the late Elmer, Barbara (John), Betty (Reuben), Holly (Dave), Susie (Roger), Dolly (Chess), Sugar, wife of the late Richard, Paula (Gary), and Brian (Melinda).Special Friend, Jim MacFarlane
Brenda was also predeceased by her beloved grandparents, Louis and Alice Young, and her aunts and uncles, Agnes, Rosemary, Judy, Davey, and Johnny.
Friendship was an important part of Brenda's life, and she was especially grateful for the love and companionship of her dear friend, Maxine Collier, whose kindness and support meant so much to her over the years.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the Palliative Care Team for the exceptional care and compassion shown to Brenda throughout her illness. Heartfelt thanks are extended to Dr. Peter Poulas, Dr. Andrew Giorno, palliative care nurse Veroji, Dr. Anne Frances D'Intino and George Burns, and the caring staff at Hospice. Your kindness, dedication, and support brought comfort not only to Brenda but to her entire family during a very difficult time.
In keeping with Brenda’s wishes a private graveside service will be held on Thursday July 9, 2026 at 9 am in Lakeside cemetery, North Sydney
