Brian Boudreau Obituary

Brian Vincent Boudreau

Bras d’Or

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend, Brian Vincent Boudreau, 67, on Tuesday, October 12, 2021.

Born in Bras d’Or on July 19, 1954, he was the son of the late Amedee and Nettie (Selena) Boudreau.

He is survived by his loving children Tammy (David), Cory, Carly (Chandler), and Brandy; grandchildren Matthew, Montana, Nathan, Marlee, Adalyn, Olivia and Fisher; brothers, Wayne (Mary) and Kevin (Corrine); sister Sharon; sisters-in-law Judy and Monica, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers Ronnie and Bud; sisters Rose (Victor & Bobby), and Yvonne (Arthur) and numerous aunts and uncles.

Brian was a Mechanic for over 40 years. He worked for service stations in Bras d’Or and Sydney Mines throughout his career. You could always find him under the hood with a smile on his face.

Brian was dedicated to serving and helping the people in his community. He was a municipal councilor in Cape Breton County. In 1995, following municipal amalgamation, Boudreau was elected to council for the newly formed Cape Breton Regional Municipality, where he served as deputy mayor. Brian was the MLA for Cape Breton The Lakes in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly from 1999 to 2003.

Brian was a proud member of the Local 92 Laborers Union in Edmonton, Alberta for 15 years.

After his retirement from the labor union, Brian worked for the Cape Breton Post. He cherished his daily chats and many gifts and treats given to him along his routes.
