Bruce Perry MacDonald
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Bruce Perry MacDonald, 64, on Thursday, May 19, 2022, surrounded by his family.
Born in Sydney Mines, Bruce was the son of the late John and Lillian (Abbott) MacDonald.
He was a proud member of Millwright Local 1178 until his retirement. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved working on anything mechanical and enjoyed boating. He loved being “Poppy Bruce” to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Bruce is survived by his wife Barbara, his sons Shane and Adam, and his step-children Arlie (Melissa), Heather and Cheryl (Brian). Also left to mourn are his grandchildren Nathan (Jessie), Ashley, Brittney, Karen Anne, Rory, Rowan, Brody , Skylar and Braxton , his great-grandchildren Marlee and Theo, sisters Yvonne White and Lillian McGean, his brother Wayne (Corrine), and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Bruce was predeceased by his brothers Kenny, Keith and Johnny, sisters Betty and Shirley, and brothers-in-law Reg White and Eddie McGean.
Visitation for Bruce MacDonald will be held Wednesday, May 25, 2022, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm in J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. A graveside service will take place on Thursday, at 11 am, in Brookside Cemetery, Sydney Mines, with Rev. Ritchie Robinson officiating.
