In Memory of
“Brian David Whyte”
May 1, 1949 – Oct 19, 2023
Age – 74
With heavy hearts, we, the family, announce the sudden passing of our brother, Bryan Whyte, on October 19th, 2023. Bryan was born in Sydney Mines, Cape Breton. In His teenage years, he worked side by side with our father, the late Duncan Whyte, as a stevedore on the St. Pierre & Miquelon. He lived most of his adult life in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, where he worked for some time at the Dartmouth General Hospital.
Brian made many friends and acquaintances while he lived in Dartmouth. He was a loving and caring person who would be missed; his favorite sports were hunting and fishing. He loved the outdoors. Bryan also loved music. His passion was playing his mandolin. He loved to entertain at social events.
He is survived by his brother Vaughn (Paula) Whyte and sister Adele Boutilier of Sydney Mines. He was the proud uncle of his nephew David Boutilier, Little Pond.
Bryan was the eldest son of the late Duncan & Rita Whyte of Sydney Mines, Cape Breton.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. A small service will take place for the family at Brookside Cemetery under the loving care and direction of J.M. Jobes Funeral home
We would like to thank the staff at Southwood Villa in Dartmouth and the Doctors and Nurses at the Dartmouth General Hospital for all the care they gave to Bryan while he was there. Thank you to Manning Jobes and the Atlantic Funeral Home in Dartmouth for getting Bryan home to his final resting place in Cape Breton.
Bryan, you are gone from us but never forgotten. Rest in Peace
