Carlotta Corbett Obituary

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Carlotta Ann Corbett (Williams) on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at the Northside General Hospital.
Carlotta was born on August 15, 1942, to Joseph Patrick Williams and Rebecca Williams (Clark). Born,
raised and lived in Sydney Mines, until she married James Alexander Corbett a member of the Canadian Armed Forces.
Carlotta met the love of her life, Jim Corbett while he was home on leave from the military and once married, she accompanied him for the remainder of his career.  Carlotta travelled the world, living in Germany; Shilo, Manitoba; Petawawa, Ontario; Shearwater, Nova Scotia; eventually returning to Shilo, Manitoba.  She moved back home to Sydney Mines after the death of her husband Jim and daughter Callie in 1990.  Carlotta and Jim raised 2 children, Carlotta Ann and Jacqueline (Joseph R.) Mewett and had a child who died at birth.
Carlotta is survived by her daughter Jackie and grandchildren James (Jamie) R. Corbett, Natasha Mewett, Kandis Mewett and Joseph (Joey) J. Mewett, her sister Bridget (Dawe) and brother Tommy.
In addition to her parents, Carlotta was predeceased by her husband Jim and daughter Callie, brother Joe and sister Theresa (Ginn) and four siblings in infancy.
Carlotta enjoyed spending time in the various bingo halls and will miss spending time with all her bingo friends.
Special thanks go out to Jimmy and Wendy Clarke and the others who helped care for Carlotta while she was at home and in the hospital.
The family would also like to say a very special thank you to the nurses of the VON and Northside General Hospital and Dr. Wawer for the wonderful care and support they provided.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the IWK Health Centre, Halifax or a charity of your choice.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will be held in the summer of 2025 at a date yet to be determined with internment to follow at Saint Joseph’s Cemetery in Sydney Mines, where she will join husband Jim and daughter Callie.
