It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Carol Anne (MacLean) Tobin on Thursday, March 27th, 2025.
Born in Sydney Mines, on May 10, 1946, Carol was the daughter of the late Alexander and Elsie MacLean of Fraser Avenue.
Carol, along with her husband Emanuel (Bud), was dedicated to caring for their fur babies, especially their cats, whom they spoiled with love. Many summers would find Carol and Bud boating on the Bras d’Or Lakes on their boat “BayTobin”. She enjoyed bowling with the girls, playing a good bingo game, and spending time with all their longtime friends.
Carol is survived by her children, Angela (Mike), Fredericton, New Brunswick, and Jennifer, Petawawa, Ontario. Her four grandchildren Charleigh, Avery, Jack, and Julia. Her twin sister, Cynthia (Bryce) Reid of Middle Sackville. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Linda MacLean and Debbie Tobin, and Buddy’s family members, Danny (Linda) Tobin, Dennis (Geralyn) Tobin, and Susan (Brian) Cullen, as well as nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She was predeceased by her husband Emanuel (Bud) Tobin in December 2023, her parents, Alexander and Elsie MacLean, her brother Calvin MacLean, Calgary, Alberta, and her sister-in-law, Marjorie (Joe) Wassilaskus and Linda (Tobin) Boutilier, brother-in-law Freddy Tobin, as well as in-laws Emmanuel and Edith Tobin.
The family would like to thank her brother-in-law, Danny Tobin, for always being there for her after her husband, Buddy, passed away, making sure she had everything she needed.
Appreciation and thanks to Dr Alexander Wawer and staff for taking such good care of Carol over the years.
A visitation will take place on Friday, April 4, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at JM Jobes Funeral Home, located on Main Street in Sydney Mines. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Carman United, with Rev. Steven Mills officiating.
