Charlene Diane Mason

Charlene Diane Mason passed away on June 14, 2025, at the age of 74 surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Sydney Mines on November 11, 1950, Charlene was the daughter of the late Laura and Charles Brown.

Charlene was an extraordinary mother, wife and friend. She was fiercely devoted to her family, especially her daughters, Shannon (Jamie) and Kathryn (Kurt). Her quiet strength and love will continue to inspire and comfort them throughout their lives.

Charlene worked in the medical records department of the Harbourview Hospital for close to 20 years and made many friends there.

In addition to her daughters, Charlene is survived by her sister, Mae (Cyril) Musgrave, as well as nieces, Shawna (Rob) and Suzanne (Chris) and nephew Stephen. She was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd, brothers, Blair, Gerard and Charlie and nephew, Shawn.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the nursing staff of the ICU of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital; in particular, Kerry, Jessica V., Becky and Marcie and IMCU staff Chelsie, Molly, Jessica and student, Tammy. Your kindness and compassion will not be forgotten.

As per Charlene’s request, there will be no visitation. A private family service will be held at a later date. Donations in Charlene’s memory can be made to Parkinson Canada or the S.P.C.A.
