Charles Gerald MacDonald
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Charles Gerald MacDonald, our beloved brother, and uncle, on December 6, 2023, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Sydney Mines to Charles and Christine (Ames) MacDonald, Charles is survived by sisters Ann, Sydney Mines, and Christine (Terry) McCormick, Georges River, as well as nieces and nephews Patrick, James, Christine, Joseph, Jessica, and Danielle. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, James, and sister, Mary Linda.
Charlie was an avid lover of music of all kinds and amassed an extensive collection of albums that he was proud of and enjoyed listening to daily.
The family would like to thank the staff of Unit 4A, Cape Breton Regional Hospital, as well as the staff of the Northside Guest Home, who provided Charlie with such good care over the past year—especially Lisa Hill and Debra Fortune. We also thank Dr. E Ignacio for his care for Charlie, as well as Dr. Micheal McKeough and Louise.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. A graveside service for the family only will be held with arrangements under the care of J.M. Jobes Funeral Home.
In Lieu of flowers, in Charlie’s memory, please be kind to someone during the holiday season.
