Christena (Chris) Brewer

We regret to announce the passing of Christena “Chris” Brewer on Friday, January 2, 2026, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.

Born in North Sydney in July 1952, Chris was the daughter of the late Ariel and Nellie Brewer. She spent most of her working life living in Halifax, where she was employed with MacQuinn’s Pharmacy.

Besides her parents, Chris was predeceased by her lifelong partner, Betty Canavan, and her sister-in-law, Anne Brewer.

Chris is survived by her siblings: Linda (Bob), Lloyd (Mary), Brenda (Dave), Pat (Gordon), John (Madelene), Greg (Kim), Kirk (Freda), Brendon (Verna), Glenda (Gordie), Pete (Anna), Wayne (Beverly), Wanda, and Kim (Dave). She is also lovingly remembered by her fur baby, Pip, as well as her many nieces and nephews.

Chris leaves behind cherished memories that will live on forever in the hearts of her family and friends.

In keeping with Chris’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A private family service will be held at a later date.
