It is with deep sadness and shattered hearts, we, the family of Chris Keeping regret to announce his passing on Monday June 3, 2024, at the age of 54.

 Born April 11, 1970, he was the son of Lawrence and Mary Keeping. Chris grew up on Rendell Dr. Little Bras d’Or but has resided in New Waterford for several years.

Besides his parents Chris is survived by his son Nathan, daughter Katelyn; as well as his much beloved Fiancé Lisa Buffett and her daughters Hayley (Emily) and Felicia. Also surviving Chris are his stepdaughter’s Felicia and Rene Jessome. Sister Jennifer Benigno and brother Michael (Tara), nephews Logan Keeping, Matteo and Angelo Benigno and grandniece Ava Keeping. He is also survived by many uncles, aunts, cousins and Lisa’s mother Anna.

Chris was predeceased by his wife Tina in 2015, paternal grandparents Nathan and Jean Keeping, Uncle Bryan Keeping, and maternal grandparents Andrew and Katie LeBlanc.

Like his grandfather Andrew, Chris was mechanically inclined, doing his own car repairs. When neighbors needed a helping hand Chris was the go-to guy. “No” was not in his vocabulary. He would be there without question. Chris was a good man with a kind heart. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

A visitation for Chris Keeping will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 2 pm; a celebration of his life will follow at 3 pm in JM Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines, with Deacon Roy Smith officiating.  A Reception will follow Adler Point Community Hall, all are welcome. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of one’s choice.
