It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, Chris, who passed on March 5th at the age of 61 in Halifax, NS.
Chris was born on July 30th, 1964 in Black Point to George MacLellan and Danena MacKinnon. He grew up in Meat Cove where he developed a love for family and the outdoors. He was known for his sense of humor, spirit of generosity, and his love of telling tall tales.
Chris enjoyed camping, fishing, tarbish, showing off card tricks, watching sports (especially hockey); cherishing time spent with family and friends.
Chris will be lovingly remembered by his sister; Anna, brothers; Robert (Deidre), Darrel (Tracy), chosen brother Derek, brother-in-law James Campbell, his mother Danena MacKinnon; partner Mary Effie MacKinnon, son Frankie MacKinnon and family, and his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was predeceased by his father George, sister Tammy, brother Ricky, brother-in-law Paulie, grandparents Simon and Marcella MacLellan, and grandparents Angus and Catherine Fraser.
Visitation will be held at the Meat Cove Welcome Center on March 10th from 2-4 and 7-9pm, and funeral to be held March 11th at St Margaret's Parish at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Chris’s memory to St Margaret's Cemetery. Chris will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
