Cyril “Zeke” Leblanc
Alder Point
It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Cyril (Zeke) LeBlanc at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on Monday, April 29th, 2024.
Cyril was predeceased by three brothers, Frank, Joe, and Willie. Five sisters: Mary, Lil, Veronica, Madonna, and Marguerite. Many brothers and sisters’ in-laws, except for brother-in-law John Thurbide, who resides at the Northside Community Guest Home in North Sydney.
Left to mourn his passing are his sister, Joyce Paquet of Alder Point, and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. Special mention should be made of his caretaker, Laura Gaudet, his niece, who took over his care from her mother, Marguerite. Also, a special thank you to Laura’s brother, John, for always looking in on him, playing cards, and bringing him snack packs of A&K.
Cyril sailed on the lakes, went fishing, worked in the old crop pits, and hauled coal for many years. All who knew him loved him and his kind and generous ways towards others. He always had a joke to tell, and upon leaving his company, he would say, “Don’t take any wooden nickels.”
His sister Joyce will always miss his daily phone calls to find out the news. Rest in peace with no more pain, Uncle Zeke.
Cremation has taken place; there will be no visitation or service at this time. A family burial will be held at a later date.
