Daniel Fraser MacDonald, 89
Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia
We regret to announce the passing of the late Dan (Danny) Macdonald, 89, on Saturday the 30th of March in Sydney, Nova Scotia, surrounded by family.
Born in New Glasgow on Thursday August 2nd, 1934, he was the son of the late Olga E. MacDonald, nee Jenkins, and Daniel M MacDonald.
For over thirty years he travelled the world working at Scotiabank where he proudly brought Visa to fruition. He was a prolific and legendary storyteller with a note on every rock, tree, or stump by the road of his beloved Cape Breton and beyond. Sharing his adventures with his children and grandchildren was a great pleasure and the wisdom he shared continues to transcend thorough the lives of all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of almost 69 years, Mary Jane, his children, Sander (Doreen) and Catherine (Steven), his grandchildren, Grant, Scott, Heather, Craig, Kevin, Conner, Mara, and Riley, his sisters, Susan and Patricia, and his great grandchildren, Charlotte, Emma, Mason, and Myah.
Predeceased by his parents, Olga MacDonald, nee Jenkins and Daniel MacDonald, and his daughter, Kimberley.
He will be buried with his parents in New Glasgow and his wishes of having no funeral service will be respected.
