                We, the family of David Leblanc regret to announce his peaceful passing on August 23rd, 2023, at his home in Edmonton. Born on February 21st, 1959, in Sydney Mines to the late Stanley and Patricia Leblanc. David grew up in Cranberry until his early twenties, when he decided to venture out into the world and start his career as a scaffolder in Alberta.

                When he returned to Cape Breton for his vacation, David would enjoy spending time with his family and also having a drink and playing his guitar on Lochmans Beach. If someone needed a hand, David was always there to help.

                David is survived by his children Kimberly and Sheila, both from Ontario, and a son. He will also be sadly missed by his common-law wife Lia Patricia, brother Alex (Wanda), sister Linda, Irene, Juanita (Val), and Anita. He was also survived by three stepsons, Jello, Jolo, and Jayjay, as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles who loved him dearly.

                David was not only predeceased by his parents, Stanly and Patricia Leblanc, but also by a daughter, Lia Patrica, brother Kenny, Sister Marlene, and great grand-nephew Lincoln Shawn.

                There will be no visitation; cremation has already taken place, and a private ceremony for the spreading of ashes will be held at swivel point at a later time, according to David’s wishes.

We thought of you today.

But that is nothing new.

We thought about you yesterday.

And days before that, too.

We think of you in silence.

We often speak your name.

Now, all we have are memories.

And your picture in a frame.

Your memory is our Keepsake.

With which we’ll never part.
