We, the family, regret to announce the passing of David (Maxie) Maxwell, age 77, on January 30, 2024, who passed away suddenly at home.

Born in Sydney Mines on January 29, 1947, he was the son of the late David and Ivy (Robertson) Maxwell.

Maxie worked at Sobey’s in his younger years, then went on to work in the Prince Mine until his retirement.

Maxie is survived by his loving wife, Linda (Snow) Maxwell, son Philip (Janet), daughter Cheryl (Daniel MacNeil), and his precious grandchildren whom he loved dearly: Taylor, Bailey, Ryan, and Kyleigh. One great-grandson, Callahan, whom he adored. Along with many nieces and nephews, whom he thought the world of, and his best friend and fishing buddy Clifford MacDonald. 

Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his brothers Lawson and Leonard: Sister-in-law Valda Maxwell and brother-in-law Henry Snow.

In keeping with Maxie’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or Funeral Service.
