Passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at the Northside General Hospital with his family at his side. Born in North Sydney August 17, 1933, he was the son of the late Donald and Myrtle Brown. Donald was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

For most of his working life Donald was involved in broadcasting as a salesman, sales manager and general manager of CJCB/CKPE and a Vice President of Fundy Communications. Donald was a faithful member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church Sydney Mines. A community worker, he was a life member of the Kinsmen Club of North Sydney and a long-time board chair of the Northside Community Guest Home.

Donald is survived and sadly missed by loving wife Effie (Graham), daughter Grace (Todd) Frost and son Donnie (Kim). He was the proud grandfather of Ryan (Tracy), Dustin (Cindy) and Graham (Druscilla) and 6 great-grandchildren Arianna, Alexander, Sophia, Caius, Zander and Denyra.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister Shirley.

By Donald’s request there will no visitation. A private family service will be held under the direction of JM Jobes Funeral Home with Rev. Ritchie Robinson officiating.
