With broken hearts we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, grandmother, wife, sister, aunt, and friend Donna Marie (Slade) Holic on Feb. 29, 2024.
Ma and Da were married on Nov. 21, 1976, and spent many of their younger years enjoying camping and card games. Later, she enjoyed going to Belle and Ben’s basketball and baseball games; they were the joys of her life. She was the proudest nanny and loved to brag about them to family and friends.
Ma had the 2 best sisters anyone could ask for. Riding shotgun for “tea days” was always something she looked forward to.
In recent years, she also loved a good game of Tarabish with her buddies.
Ma was very family-orientated and loved our “garage” gatherings for special occasions and family breakfasts. She absolutely adored watching all the babies play.
Survived by the most caring husband Michael, daughter Leanne, best son in law Ronnie and her most prized possessions Belle (Nolan), and Ben. She is also survived by her beautiful sisters Wendy Slade (Garnet), Sharon Slade (Russell), brothers Blair Slade (Jennifer) and Kevin Slade (special sister Donna) Sister-in-Law’s Cecilia (Kenny) and Ann Marie (Mel). We will all miss her beyond words.
She was predeceased by her parents, Major Slade and Florence Dove. As well as mother and father-in-law, John and Ann Holic.
Our family would like to send the most sincere thank you to the doctors and nurses at the ICU unit in the CBRH. You are nothing short of angels on earth.
As per Ma’s wishes, a private family service will take place.
