With heartfelt sadness, the family of Dorothy Maxwell announce her passing on Sunday, October 29, 2023 at Taigh Solas, surrounded by those who loved her.

Mom lived a long life, blessed by good health and a large, loving family. She had a strong faith in God and relied on the power of prayer in her daily life.

Mom was predeceased by husbands Mike Sawchuk and Lewis Maxwell and is survived by son Wayne (Marjorie) Sawchuk, grandchildren Michael (Lynette) Sawchuk, Timmy, Corey and Kristine and Mary (Jamie)Dunlap, daughter Donna (Doug)Howley, grandchildren Morgan Reitsma and Ashton Howley, daughter Kim (Donnie)Brown, grandsons Ryan (Tracy)Brown and Dustin (Cindy)Brown, daughter Cathy Hutchings, and grandchildren Josh (Danielle)Hutchings and Nia (Levi)Labbe. Mom was blessed with 13 great-grandchildren who she adored.

The family’s sincere gratitude goes out to the staff at Taigh Solas, who cared for Mom with so much love and kindness for the past five and a half years. She was in the best of hands always-you are amazing caregivers. Thanks also to Dr. Paul Hickey and Dr. Eugene Ignacio for your care.

Cremation has taken place with a private family service scheduled at a later date. Donations in Mom’s memory can be made to a charity of choice.
