Dorothy Theriault

    It is with a heavy heart that we, the Theriault Family, announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Dorothy Theriault, 89, on Tuesday, February 4th, 2025, at the Northside General Hospital.
    Born in Sydney Mines, she was the daughter of the late John Finlayson and Violet (Bonnar) Finlayson.
    Dorothy first worked for Nickerson Fish Plant and finished her career at the National Sea Fish Plant. She was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 8 Ladies Auxiliary Sydney Mines. She liked Playing Darts, Bowling, Dancing, and Camping.
    Dorothy is survived by her husband, Wilfred, and her boys Jamie (Mindy), Ontario, Dale (Rachel), Big Bras d’Or, and Troy (Shannon), Ontario.  Four Grandchildren, Megan, James Daniel Jr., Jillian, and Travis, and three Great-Grandchildren, Coby, Natalie, and Kennedy Rose.
    Besides her parents, Dorothy was predeceased by sisters and brothers Johnena, Louis, John, Mary Catherine, Russell, Helen, Alexander, Murdock, Diana, Soloman, Daniel, Walter, and Katherine.
    As per her wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private family service will take place at a later date.
