Douglas Wayne Forrest
It is with great sadness that we, the family of Douglas Wayne Forrest, announce his peaceful passing at the Northside General Hospital on Monday, June 26th, 2023
Born in Sydney Mines on February 12, 1955, he was a man of many trades. Being a certified electrician, owning a construction business, to selling cars.
Throughout his life, Doug enjoyed many hobbies, including camping trips, four-wheeling weekends, cooking and entertaining friends and family, making skating rinks in the front yard for his children, and many family trips to Florida.
Doug also spent many hours coaching minor hockey and playing goalie for the Sydney Mines Colliery League, known to fellow teammates as “stop drop and roll.”
Above all, his greatest accomplishment was his children and grandchildren, whom he loved very much.
Leaving behind to mourn his loss are his mother, Ethel (Shepperd) Forrest, and four children, Christopher (Nadia), Gregory, Krystal (Kenny) Forrest- Burns, and Natasha (Dhillon). Grandchildren, Isabella, Mia, Bethany, and Jordan. Sister Sherry Grant, mother of his children Juanita MacMullin Forrest, along with many nieces and nephews.
Doug was predeceased by his father, Hughie, and brother-in-law Shelly Grant.
