Elaine Christine (MacDougall) Chisholm
April 4, 1942 ~ March 30, 2022 (age 79)
With profound sadness we announce the passing of Elaine, our loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and friend to all whose lives she touched, on Wednesday, March 30, 2022.
She left us beautifully and peacefully, surrounded by loved ones.
Elaine was born on April 4, 1942 in Sydney Mines, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Marie (Steele) MacDougall.
She was the beloved mother of Blair, Wanda, Laura, and John (Joyce). She was also proud grandmother of Dwayne, Freddy, Farrell (Terri), Travis, Angella (Rodney), Ashley (Liam), Catherine, Devon, Brent (Genna), Jillian (Rob), Katrina (Will), and Adian. Grammy cherished all 15 great grandbabies. Leaving behind her partner in crime, who she dearly loved whole heartedly and was lucky enough to call a sister, Thelma MacIntyre, and step-sisters Mazie Scott and Peggy Degaust. She also leaves behind her little companion Bambie.
Besides her parents, Elaine was predeceased by her husband Leonard Chisholm, step mother Minnie (Osmond) MacDougall, step sister Rodinia Orr, brothers Roddie, Jimmy, Dougie, Danny, Frankie, and step brother Freddy Harris, sons Wayne, Leonard, and Brian, daughters Margret Ann and infant baby girl, brother in law Diddy MacIntyre, son in Law Ricky Jessome, great niece Dana Jessome, and last but not least, her dear closest friend and fishing partner, Buddy Campbell.
Elaine lived a full life as a wonderful mother, Nan loved to go fishing, driving, heading to the beach to watch the ocean or just to sit back and enjoy all the people. Any time you went to visit she would have the table full of food and made sure you left with a full belly. The last couple of years her enjoyment was watching tv game shows. Nan also was a cancer survivor.
The family would like to thank her family Doctor, Dr McKeough and Louise, and all the wonderful staff on Palliative Care Unit. The family would sincerely like to give a big thanks to her daughter Wanda, who provided round the clock care with Nan’s ongoing dementia.
Elaine, you will be missed by so many, that big smile and beautiful laugh.
A celebration of life will be held Tuesday April 5, 2022 at 11a.m. in Holy Family Church, Sydney Mines. Everyone is welcome to come say goodbye. After the service there will be a family/friend gathering at 848 Main. St, Sydney Mines.
The world changes, from year to year… Our lives from day to day… but the love and memory of you shall never pass away.
In Loving Memory
