Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Canavan
North Sydney
We regret to announce the passing of Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Canavan on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at the Northside General Hospital, North Sydney.
Born in Sydney Mines on October 23, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Theresa (Donato) Pickrem and Douglas H Canavan.
Betty spent her working life living in Halifax, working at Northwood Manor.
She is survived by her partner, Chris Brewer, brother, Bill Pickrem, and her fur baby Pip.
Besides her parents, Betty was predeceased by her brother Robert Pickrem and beloved Nana Marie Donato.
In keeping with Betty’s wishes, cremation has taken place, there will be no service. If you would like to donate in Betty’s memory, her charities of choice were Hope for Wildlife or SPCA.
That though the radiance which was once so bright.
Be now forever taken from my sight.
Though nothing can bring back the hour of splendor in the grass
glory in the flower.
We will grieve not, rather find strength in what remains behind
William Wordsworth
