Ellen Jane Pieroway 

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ellen Jane Pieroway, Age 81 at Cumberland County Hospital in Amherst, NS on Sunday, April 9, 2023. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Born in Piccaire, NL on Oct 26, 1941, she was the daughter of the late James and Harriett Piccott.

Jane was a beautiful soul inside and out, she loved playing cards with her family, which meant the world to her. She loved to cook for her family, she worked hard all her life. Jane has suffered the last 3 years in pain, but she passed away peacefully with her husband and children by her side. 

Jane is survived by her beloved husband, John Pieroway, sons Danny (Deanna) Fitzgerald, Robert aka Bob (Ellen) Fitzgerald, Gary (Theresa) Fitzgerald, Steven Fitzgerald, John (Tracey) Pieroway, Claude (Deanna) Pieroway, 

Daughters Donna (Kevin) Slade, Lucy Fitzgerald, Sherry (Chris) Evans, Lisa (Ronnie) Gardiner, and Karen Pieroway. Also surviving are many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Brothers, George, Roy, and sister-in-law Belle Piccott.

Besides her parents, Jane was predeceased by brothers, Robert, Freeman, Arthur, and Bronson, daughter Lynette, and grandson Shane Hatcher.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation for the late Jane Pieroway will be held Friday, April 14, from 10:00 to 11:00 am, with service to follow in JM Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines.
