It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Louise MacLean.
Louise was a kind, caring, and loving person. She was always there to help her family and friends whenever they needed her. Louise was always at her happiest while singing and playing guitar. She loved playing at Indian Beach and the Legion, or anywhere else she could play.
Louise is no longer suffering and is at peace. She will be missed dearly.
She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Troy MacLean; her grandchildren, Kayla, Anthony, John Thomas, Baby Troy, and Connor; as well as her great-grandchildren, Cameron and Finn.
She also leaves behind her siblings Paula (Harris), Arthur (Kathy), Susan, and Bonnie on the Rose side, and Sheila, Loretta, Wanda, Russell, Lawrence, Keith, Marlene, and Troy on the Marsh side.
Also left to mourn are her nieces and nephews Glenn, Fallon (Roy), Patty, Holly, Justin, Dan, Katie, Chris, Brendon, Jason, Sarah, Felisha, and Travis; as well as great-nieces and nephews Jacob (Carie), Noah, Gabe, Jackson, Zoe, Emma, Johnathan, Bryson, Carter, Baby Jackie, Evan, Emma, Elyse, August, Ellie, Meadow, Maverick, Avery, Hunter, Tyler, and Abbey.
Others left behind are Ducky McLeod, her closest friend who was always there for her throughout her entire life; close friend James Boutilier; her two closest cousins, Trilby and Anna; dear friends Bam Bailey and Brenda, who never left the hospital; cousin Violet; as well as close friends Glenda, Barb, and Lorraine; and extended family members Chris, Freddy, and Johnny.
Louise was predeceased by her parents, Jackie and Sarah Rose; her partner, Alice Pye, whom she loved dearly; her grandmother, Louise Jardine; her biological father, Lawrence Marsh; brother-in-law, Darren Ginter; cousin, Freddy MacLean; and two of the most important people in her life, Gloria and Debbie.
Over the last few years, Louise got to meet and create bonds with her siblings on the Marsh side of her family, which made her very happy.
We would like to thank everyone who visited and sat around the hospital with Louise, and all the nursing staff on the fifth floor of the Northside General Hospital, as well as Dr. Wawer.
Lastly, we would like to thank JM Jobes Funeral Home for everything they did for Louise and for all the Rose family members who have passed. They were always there for us.
A visitation and celebration of life will take place on Sunday, May 31, 2026, from 1–3 p.m. at JM Jobes Funeral Home, Main Street, Sydney Mines. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Following the service, the family invites relatives and friends to join them for a luncheon at Holy Family Parish Hall.
