It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our dear friend, wife, sister, and nan, Monica (Bond) Boudreau, on Thursday, April 2, 2026.
Born on November 3, 1958, Monica was the daughter of the late Ralph and Josephine Bond and stepdaughter of the late John Bond. She was also predeceased by the love of her life, her husband Ronald (Ronnie) Boudreau, brother Rickie Quirk, and sister Norma Jean Bond.
Monica is survived by her brother Sandy (Debbie) Bond; stepbrother Solomon (Sully) Dawe (Kevin & Tommy); nieces and nephews (grandchildren) Ceilidh Bond (Violet & Iris), Emmaleigh MacNeil, William MacNeil, Alex MacNeil, and Madison Bond (Austin & Angus); aunt Virginia Orrell; uncle Lorne Bond; many cousins; as well as her fur baby, “Silly Cat.”
Monica was a loyal employee of National Seafood, where she worked for many years. She shared her love of all things handcrafted by gifting her beautiful creations to the people she loved—her family and her many friends.
Monica was the most loyal friend with the kindest heart and the biggest personality. She had a great sense of humor, would always keep you on your toes, and was always so full of fun. Monica would light up a room. She had a way of making you feel special and loved. To know her was to love her.
Monica will be immensely missed by her grandchildren; her surrogate family, Eddie (Jane, Bhreagh (Raman), Bryden (Hanna & Holly)) Orrell; her best friend Evelyn Ann Jobe; special cousins Bruce and Keith; nephew Wayne; and her many friends with whom she gathered at McDonald’s Restaurant to share coffee, meals, and many fun conversations.
A celebration of life for Monica will be held Saturday, April 11th, 2026, at 1 p.m. at J.M. Jobes Funeral Home Ltd., Sydney Mines, with the service to follow at 2 p.m., officiated by Monica’s dear friend Cecil Clarke. Memorial donations may be made to the North Sydney Food Bank.
“She was full of life, laughter, and love. With her quick wit and kind hands, she brought warmth to everyone around her, whether through her jokes or the things she lovingly knitted. She will forever be the heart of our family.”
