It is with great sadness that we, the family of Florence Lettues, 88, announce her passing on Saturday, December 28th, 2024, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, surrounded by her family. Nan loved spending time with her grandchildren, and in many ways, she raised us into adulthood, and for that, we are very grateful.
Born in North Sydney on June 19th, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Caroline (Riggs) and Ellis Taylor. She is survived by her grandson Brandon and her granddaughter Samantha, her sisters Ellen McGarr, Carolyn Heidl, Winnifred Gerrow, Myrtle Eveleigh, and Patricia Mosher, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her parents, Caroline and Ellis, husband Robert, daughter Karen, brother James Taylor, and sister Marion McLeod.
During Nan’s younger years, she worked at the Bargain Store in Sydney Mines at the candy counter; she loved to greet the customers and talk about their lives. Nan had many friends with whom she spent time and enjoyed playing bingo and bowling.
She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
We will remember Nan’s love and how kind she was to everyone she met.
A Funeral Service will take place on Monday, January 6th, at 11 am at JM Jobes Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Jackie Warren. All who knew her are welcome to attend.
