Florence Pero Obituary

Florence Genevieve (Williams) Pero

Florence

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt, Florence Genevieve Pero (Williams), 78 on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at home, surrounded by her loving family.
Flo was born in Florence on March 2, 1944 to the late Roy and Vivian (Reashore) Williams.
Flo was employed in various careers throughout her life but truly enjoyed her time, the most, at The Cedar House, as a baker, and at the Florence Post Office, as a clerk. There she was able to meet and become friends with so many wonderful people.
Flo was always learning new skills in her life. She became proficient at sewing, knitting, making ceramics, cross stitching, toll painting, using a loom and most recently rug hooking. She was never scared to try something new and she always excelled at it, which resulted in some beautiful results. Over the last 7 years she felt so lucky to be able to enjoy her Wednesdays with her “hooker” friends in Big Bras d’Or and all their various trips for classes and get togethers. She cherished her time with all of you.
Flo’s greatest accomplishment was as a wife and mother. Her family was always her first priority. Flo was predeceased by the love of her life Langelle Pero in 2014. She will be greatly missed by her 5 children; Shaunna Johnston, Colleen (Eric) MacNeil, Scott (Kerry) Pero, Joanna Pero and Kris (Leann) Pero; 3 grandsons; Matthew (Melissa) Johnston, Jason (Michelle) MacNeil, Jordi (Janelle) Pero; 6 granddaughters; Caitlin (Ryan) Fraser, Katie (Byron) MacNeil, Jordan Jackson and Jamie (Brian) Jackson, Olivia (Tyler) Pero and Paige Pero; 4 great-grandsons; Aiden, Karsen, Reed and Keenan; 3 great-granddaughters; Charlee, Penelope and Gabriella.
Flo will also be missed by her sisters Vee (Johnny) Pye and Anne Marie Hopkins, her brother-in-law Butch (Patsy) Pero, sister-in-law Sheila Lyle and her many nieces and nephews, who she was proud to call friend as well as family. Mom was lucky to have many best friends who will miss her. We wish to mention a few who made her journey just a little easier; Pauline Bain, Lynn MacPhee, Josephine Clarke and Donna Brown.

Besides her beloved husband, Flo was predeceased by her parents and her sister Margaret Reid.

Visitation for Florence Pero will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm in J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. A celebration of her life will take place Thursday at 10:30 am in the funeral home. Words of comfort may be forwarded to her family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com
