Francis “Doc” Marinelli

We are saddened to announce the passing of our brother, Doc, at the Northside General Hospital on Monday, September 18, 2023, at the age of 81.

Born in Sydney Mines, Doc was the son of the late Tony and Edna (Best) Marinelli.

He is survived by his companion of 16 years, Bridget Dawe, and her children Gordon (Star), Lisa (Jimmy), Heather, John, and Jason (Chantelle), all of whom he was very close to.  Doc is also survived by his brothers, Phillip (Donna), and David (Lynda). Sisters, Nora (Ernie), Mary (Simon), Cathy (David), and sister-in-law Joanne.

Besides his parents, Doc was predeceased by brothers Tony (Ann), Johnny (Cathy), Dominic (Marion), Brian, Bobby and sister Louise.

We would like to thank Dr. Andrew and Alexander Wawer and the staff of 4 West Northside General for their compassion and excellent care.

There will be no visitation. Everyone is welcome to join us for a graveside service at St. Jospeh’s Cemetery, Yorke St., Sydney Mines on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 12 p.m. There will be a reception at Sydney Mines Seniors and Pensioners Club, Fraser Ave. Sydney Mines following the service.
